Stuffed Cabbage Rolls Recipe:
These stuffed cabbage rolls are a classic comfort food, filled with tender beef and rice and simmered in a rich tomato sauce. Serve with a side of crusty bread or roasted potatoes for a complete and satisfying meal.
Ingredients:
- 1 head green cabbage
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup cooked white rice
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp paprika
instruction
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Boil a large pot of water and add the cabbage. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the leaves start to soften. Remove the cabbage from the water and let cool.
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, cooked rice, onion, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Carefully remove the thick stems from the center of each cabbage leaf and place about 1/4 cup of the beef mixture in the center of each leaf. Roll the leaf around the filling, tucking in the sides, to form a compact roll.
- In a large oven-safe casserole dish, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the stuffed cabbage rolls, seam side down, to the dish.
- In a small bowl, mix together the beef broth and paprika. Pour the mixture over the stuffed cabbage rolls.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.
- Serve and enjoy your delicious stuffed cabbage rolls!
