This cheesy hamburger rice is a quick and comforting one-pan dinner loaded with seasoned ground beef, tender rice, and melty cheese — perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup uncooked long-grain rice
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until softened.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease if needed.
- Stir in garlic, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute.
- Add uncooked rice, beef broth, and diced tomatoes. Stir well.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 18–20 minutes, or until rice is tender.
- Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
- Garnish with parsley if desired and serve warm.
