Cheesy hamburger rice

Cheesy Hamburger Rice 🍔🧀🍚

This cheesy hamburger rice is a quick and comforting one-pan dinner loaded with seasoned ground beef, tender rice, and melty cheese — perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup uncooked long-grain rice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until softened.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease if needed.
  3. Stir in garlic, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add uncooked rice, beef broth, and diced tomatoes. Stir well.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 18–20 minutes, or until rice is tender.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
  7. Garnish with parsley if desired and serve warm.

Tips

  • Add bell peppers or corn for extra flavor.
  • Swap cheddar for mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese.
  • For a spicy version, add diced jalapeños or chili flakes.
